Notes: A collection of 21 short stories plus an afterword "Make Haste to Live."

This set, assembled by the collector Tom Garner, includes an inscribed first edition and an inscribed advance reading copy (ARC, labeled "uncorrected proof"). The ARC was issued before the regular first edition or the Franklin Library version. The advance copy has a simpler dedication than the published book. In the final version, Bradbury added a comic descriptor of the dedicatee Donn Albright: "my Golden Retriever". That joke is lacking in the ARC.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with a numberline ending in 1). The trade issue is fine in a fine dust jacket; the ARC is fine. Both are inscribed by Bradbury to "Tom." The clamshell box, commissioned by Garner, is near fine. A nicely presented set.
