Notes: A complete set of first editions of King's chronicle of the gunslinger's quest through an alternate dimension that ties together many of King's works.

The saga began as a series of connected short stories that King shaped into The Gunslinger. Unable to find a mainstream publisher for this experimental blend of dark fantasy and Western elements, King turned to specialty publisher Donald M. Grant, who issued it in a modest 10,000-copy edition. Despite limited bookstore distribution, the book's success led to multiple reprints. King continued publishing new volumes through Grant over the next two decades, with print runs in the tens of thousands—merely one-tenth the size of his mainstream novels from the same period.

King wrote two additional volumes set in the same universe folling the saga's completion, and they are not included here.

Edition + Condition: First printings of all seven books. The Gunslinger jacket (first printing, with two prices) shows spine fading and minor wear to spine ends. Drawing of the Three has small spots on page block edges. Wizard and Glass shows yellowing to page edges and a vertical crease to rear jacket flap. The other volumes are near fine or better in like jackets. Provenance: Collection of Tom Garner, housed in five aftermarket slipcases.
