Notes: One of 100 copies of this instrallment in McMurtry's series of memoirs. This one mostly offers anecdotes about his books, with bits about filmmakers and booksellers tossed in for seasoning.

Three Dog Books in Archer City produced these signed issues by adding a limitation inkstamp to the first blank leaf, numbering them, and having McMurtry sign the page. While McMurtry owned a large bookstore in the same small town, he didn't like selling his own books. For a decade or so he signed limited editions for the other bookstore in town.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing); Three Dog Books issue, limited to 100 numbered copies signed by the author. Of McMurtry's later books, this one is perhaps the least common signed. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. This is copy #15, from the collection of Tom Garner.
