Numbered Copy in the Optional Slipcase
Folly and Glory [Signed, Numbered, Slipcase]
Publication: Archer City, TX and New York: Three Dog Books and Simon & Schuster, 2004. First Edition.
Notes: Book four of the Berrybender narratives in the numbed issue of 75 copies, in a decorative slipcase by Robert Wang. The 26 lettered copies came with slipcases but apparently collectors could request a slipcase with their numbered copies.
While McMurtry owned a large bookstore in Archer City, he didn't typically sell his own books. Instead, he arranged for the nearby Three Dog Books to offer them for sale. For a number of years, they issued these signed limited editions with each new McMurtry book. They used the trade edition of the novel, added a rubber stamp limitation statement, and McMurtry signed them. The slipcases are quite nice.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy in a fine dust jacket and a fine slipcase. This is copy 15 of 75, signed by McMurtry.
