Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing with 1936 on the title page and the copyright page). Spine tanned and spotted, thus good to very good. The jacket is a bit faded on the spine (the red printing is pink) in an edgeworn, possibly supplied, dust jacket with a two-inch tear at the top of the spine. This copy is inscribed on the copyright page, "For Stanley Marcus, with best wishes. Wayne Gard."
With the small bookplate of Billie and Stanley Marcus, designed by Rockwell Kent, on the front pastedown and a laid-in publicity sheet about the book (very scarce). Stanley Marcus was an executive at the Neiman Marcus department store.
