Classic History of Gunfighters, in Jacket
Triggernometry: A Gallery of Gunfighters with Technical Notes on Leather Slapping as a Fine Art, Gathered from Many a Loose Holstered Expert Over the Years
Publication: New York: Press of the Pioneers, 1934. First Edition.
Notes: Biographical sketches of Western American gunfighters. "This book has become a standard work and is reliable on most points"—Adams, Six-guns, 530.
xx, 441, [1: blank] pages.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A near fine copy with a bit of spotting and shelfwear to the publisher's fine-weave blue cloth stamped in gilt. The price-clipped light blue dust jacket is tanned at the spine and is missing small chips. Nicer than usually found.
[NB: This book is found in (at least) two types of cloth (a medium and a fine weave blue cloth), two colors of stamping on the spine and front board (black and gold), and two, or possibly three, dust jacket colors (light blue and yellow; a darker gray blue is known to your cataloguer, but he is uncertain if this is a different color or simply natural darkening with age). This light blue jacket has the circular graphic image of two hands and a pistol centered on the front panel. The last line of text on the back cover begins, "put it away."
None of the standard references for this title describe any of the variants. I suspect that these are actually separate printings, but much work would be required to put them in order.
