Notes: A signed issue, limited to 250 numbered copies, of King's revenge tale, originally serialized in the Castle Rock newsletter. After this stand-alone publication, it was collected in Nightmares & Dreamscapes and adapted into a 2009 film starring Christian Slater. This edition represents the story's first and only separate book appearance.

Lord John Press produced this 250-copy deluxe issue in quarter leather as well as 1,000 numbered copies in quarter black cloth with Cadillac-patterned boards, lettered copies, and copies reserved for the author, publisher, and others.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy with an unfaded spine. No dust jacket, as issued. Signed by King on half-title page, copy 25 of 250. With the publisher's flyer apologizing for the delayed publication. Scarce with flyer.

Provenance: Purchased new by James Strand in 1989 for $250. The note in Strand's handwritten list of purchases for the years says, "Ordered in 1987, received on 3/10/89.". This book was stolen from Strand's library after he died in August 2023. It was recovered by the FBI from a storage unit in Oregon City and returned to the family. With the original FBI evidence tag laid in.
