Notes: The seventh James Bond novel, with a striking skull design on the front board. One of 7,500 copies bound from British sheets.
Edition + Condition: First American edition (first printing, with no indication of later printings). Fine in a slightly spine darkened, else fine jacket. Upper price clipped leaving $3.00 price at the base of the front flap, as issued. Much nicer than usually found.
Provenance: James Strand; stolen in 2023; recovered by the FBI from a storage unit in Oregon City, with the original evidence tag laid in and a Strand estate bookplate on the front pastedown. The Strand theft was one of the biggest book heists in American history.
