Notes: One of the 26-copy lettered issue of King's revenge tale, originally serialized in the Castle Rock newsletter. After this stand-alone publication, it was collected in Nightmares & Dreamscapes and adapted into a 2009 film starring Christian Slater. This edition represents the story's first and only separate book appearance.

Lord John Press produced this lettered issue, bound in marbled paper-covered boards with a leather spine and leather fore-edge. There were also 250 deluxe copies in quarter leather, 1,000 numbered copies in quarter black cloth with Cadillac-patterned boards, and copies reserved for the author, publisher, and others.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy, in a slightly dusty else near fine slipcase. Signed by King on half-title page; copy Q of 26.

Provenance: Purchased new by James Strand in 1989 for $1250; stolen from Strand's home after he died in August 2023; recovered by the FBI from a storage unit in Oregon City; and returned to the family. This copy is accompanied by the original evidence tag. The thief was sentenced to six years in prison.
