Stolen & Recovered by the FBI
Pet Sematary
Publication: New York: Doubleday, 1983. First Edition.
Notes: A spooky dead pet horror novel. The title comes from a misspelled sign marking a pet cemetary.
374 pages.
Edition + Condition: First edition (stated; you don't need the gutter code, which is glued down in this copy, but it starts with a Y). This copy has the correct dust jacket with a 1982 date for Tabitha King's novel Caretakers on the rear panel. The book was actually published in 1983, which was corrected on later printings. This is a fine, tight copy in a very good to near fine dust jacket with a short tear to the bottom edge and a bit of wear to the corners.
This copy comes from the collection of James Strand, whose important horror library was looted after his death. This copy was probably F/F when it was stolen, but after being passed around the criminal underground it got a few nicks. With James Strand's estate bookplate on the front pastedown and the original FBI evidence tag laid in.
