Edition + Condition: Generally very good; folded as issued. Small hole in Song of Susannah; Gunslinger lightly soiled. Most addressed to James Strand.
James Strand's private library was looted after his death. His copy of the trade first edition of The Gunslinger (inscribed to James on 7/17/82) was offered on eBay and eventually vanished from view. He purchased the signed, numbered Gunslinger copy 128 from the store Future Dreams in Portland in 1982, the year of publication. He paid $100; it's possible that Future Dreams purchased signed, numbered copies for resale. Strand appears to have continued the subscription for copy #128 and a number of Dark Tower books with that number were offered by thieves in the fall of 2023 and were acquired by collectors. The estate is actively looking to recover Strand's Dark Tower set.
