Edition + Condition: First American edition (first printing, with no indication of later printings). A fine copy in a very near fine dust jacket, with minor wear at the spine ends.
This copy came from the collection of James Strand, an important Lovecraft collector. In the 1950s, he bought mysteries, often off the markdown shelves. This copy was discounted, in pencil, from $2.95 to 69 cents on the front flap. With the Strand estate bookplate on the front pastedown.
