Edition + Condition: First edition (first and only Arkham House printing). A fine, tight copy in a very good dust jacket with bumping and a few short tears at the edges. This copy suffered some damage in its tour of the criminal underworld. With the Lovecraft-inspired letterpress bookplate of the James Strand estate on the front pastedown.
This copy came from the important Arkham House collection assembled by James Strand of Portland, Oregon. After his death, in August 2023, his house was looted and most of his books were stolen. Some, like this one, were subsequently recovered by the FBI. This book includes the original FBI evidence tag.
