Lord Kelvin's Machine
Publication: Sauk City, WI: Arkham House, 1992. First Edition.
Notes: A time-travel tale set in Victorian England.
4015 copies. Jacket art by J. K. Potter.
Joshi, Eighty Years of Arkham House, 179.
Edition + Condition: First edition (stated). A fine copy with a James Strand estate bookplate in a very good jacket with a short tear at the front flap.
This copy came from the important Arkham House collection assembled by James Strand of Portland, Oregon. It is likely that he had all three issues of the jacket—he was an obsessive completist. After his death, in August 2023, his house was looted and most of his books were stolen. This copy was recovered by the FBI from a storage unit in Oregon City; the original evidence tag is laid in.
