The Long Walk

Publication: New York: Signet / New American Library / Times Mirror, 1979. First Edition.

According to King's essay, Why I Was Bachman, this is one of the two good novels (the other is Rage) he wrote before Carrie. He started Rage in high school; this is the first novel he finished, in 1967, when he was a college freshman.
