This is the original text of one of King's best novels; in 1998, an uncut version with 150,000 additional words (the length of two standard novels) was issued. The longer version is the one in print today.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, a stated "First Edition" and yes, there is the code T39 on page 823, which is not a point of issue, all copies that state "first edition" have that code). Near fine in an about near fine dust jacket with the $12.95 price. There are a couple of short tears to the edges and a small spot on the spine. This copy is inscribed, "For Louise—With best wishes, Stephen King. 6/28/93."
This copy was sent by the recipient to Stephen King's office for signature. A copy of the postcard from King's assistant allowing Louise to send two books and Louise's letter referring to The Stand accompany this copy.
