Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, trade issue; no indication of later printings on the copyright page). A near fine copy in red cloth in a very good dust jacket with tanning to the spine and shallow loss at the top of the spine.
With an autograph letter signed in a hand-addressed envelope mounted to the front pastedown. The Oct. 24, 1923, letter—one-page to Frederick B. Eddy—accompanied some books Machen inscribed (not present) and it says, "I have just passed the final proofs of the forthcoming book, "The London Adventure" but I don't know when it is to be published."
