Signed in Gold
Screwjack [Signed]
Publication: Santa Barbara: Neville, 1991. First Edition.
Notes: Three short pieces and an introduction by the author, published in an edition of 300 numbered copies bound in red cloth stamped in gilt.
In 2000, Thompson's regular publisher issued this book in a trade edition with a dust jacket based on the title-page design.
[2:blank], [2], viii, 38, [2:blank], [2:colophon], [2:blank] pages. There were also 26 lettered copies and at least one publisher's copy of each binding plus an unknown number designated as presentation copies.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, one of 300 numbered copies). Slight scuffing to cloth, else fine. No dust jacket, as issued. This copy is not numbered, however it is dramatically signed "HST" in gold Sharpie on the colophon. Most copies are signed with regular blue ink pens. One of Maurice Neville's publisher's copies was also signed in gold Sharpie. It's possible these were designated for some special purpose.
