Notes: This is one of 200 copies signed by Allen Cohen and poster artist Rick Griffin, issued with a slipcase and a paper porfolio of cover fascimiles. Griffin signed a cover fascimile bound in at the front of the book; he died in a motorcylce accident soon after signing these prints.

This is a complete, full-color recreation in book form of all 12 issues of the legendary psychedelic newspaper originally published in the Haight-Ashbury from 1966 to 1968 (plus the trial "P.O. Frisco" published before Oracle no. 1. Among the writers and artists featured in the tabloid publication included Gary Snyder, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Alan Watts, Ram Dass, Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, and Alton Kelly.

In addition to reprinting the published issues, the extended introduction includes essays on the history of the Oracle, the making of the facsimile, and thoughts on its influence. This collector's edition is numbered on the title page and signed there by Cohen. Rick Griffin (best known for the flying-eyeball poster for a Jimi Hendrix concert which is one of the best-known posters of the 1960s) signed along the lower edge of the frontispiece. The separate cover facsimiles are in a folded paper portfolio, with 13 cover sheets (including the PO Frisco cover) plus two smaller information sheets.

Edition + Condition: First edition of this collected edition (limited to 200 signed and 1700 unsigned copies). A fine copy in a fine slipcase. The cover portfolio has a couple of stray marks. This copy comes with the original mailing box plus various letters and flyers from the publisher.
