Classic History of Gunfighters, in Jacket
Triggernometry: A Gallery of Gunfighters with Technical Notes on Leather Slapping as a Fine Art, Gathered from Many a Loose Holstered Expert Over the Years
Publication: New York: Press of the Pioneers, 1934. First Edition.
Notes: Biographical sketches of Western American gunfighters. "This book has become a standard work and is reliable on most points"—Adams, Six-guns, 530.
xx, 441, [1: blank] pages.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A near fine copy with a bit of spotting and shelfwear to the publisher's coarse blue cloth stamped in gilt. The price-clipped yellow dust jacket is missing small pieces from the edges and more at the top and bottom of the spine, affecting the title. Uncommon.
[NB: This book is found in (at least) two typles of cloth (a medium and a fine weave blue cloth), two colors of stamping on the spine and front board (black and gold), and two, or possibly three, dust jacket colors (light blue and yellow; a darker gray blue is known to your cataloguer, but he is uncertain if this is a different color or simply natural darkening with age). The yellow jacket has the circular image of two hands and a gun shifted to the right edge. The last text line on the back panel of the jacket begins "as a reference." None of the standard references for this title describe any of the variants.
